Past Event: 3rd Annual "Steps for Recovery" Comedy Social

Purpose of "Steps to Recovery" Event
Simply stated, client demand continues to grow to levels which required RRI to continue adding services. We purchase, partially renovated, and moved into a new building in 2009. Our new building currently needs more outdoor renovations. We wish to help more individuals while offering more community & family programs. In order to do this, RRI is asking for your help. Please consider helping us keep these vital programs available to those who are willing to work and make their lives productive again. Your donation will also help the Wilson High School SADD Chapter.

Steps to Recovery Event History
Last year’s event was such a success, that we wanted to continue to collaborate with Wilson High school SADD chapter. This opportunity helps to get teenagers involved and give back to the community. The “Steps to Recovery” Comedy Social will be held at Wilson Area High School.
RRI will be hosting a Tricky Tray from 6:30-8:00 pm. As part of the evenings festivities, we have partnered with local chefs/restaurants to provide “Classic Cuisine and Culinary Treats” Food Sampling Extravaganza. For your listening pleasure, we will have high school students performing from 7:50pm-8:15. The Main Event is Comedian Mark Lundholm who will begin his 90 minute performance at 8:30pm. The winners of the Tricky Tray will be announced directly after the performance. Don’t miss your opportunity to be a supporter.

Entertainment for the evening: Comedian Mark Lundholm

Clean and sober since 1988, Mark Lundholm started poking fun at the insanity his life had become. This process continued and gained momentum, and in a short time an incredibly talented and energetic entertainer emerged. Beginning with a successful standup comedy career through 50 states and 10 foreign countries, this comic’s style of humor is now so much more than a comedy show and beyond a typical keynote presentation. The performance given by Lundholm is a thought provoking journey through a man’s decline and his subsequent ascension. Mark details his battles with addiction in a clever manner that is sometimes shocking, often heartwarming, and unceasingly honest. This is a fast paced PG rated show that never fails to leave audiences thinking differently about themselves and their loved ones. The New York Times said, “Mr. Lundholm’s acerbic powers of observation are quite dark and funny”, and The Chicago Sun- Times reported, “Lundholm is a terrific performer— aggressive, funny and charming.” Mark has an extensive performance history with fundraising and the corporate world as well, having given over 200 motivational keynote addresses. He has worked for the likes of Apple, Betty Ford, Donald Trump, Anthony Robbins, Eric Clapton and A&E TV. Mark says “half of that is the humor, half of that is the hope, the rest is something I just love to do!” No mathematics major, Mark Lundholm is the only speaker of his kind in this industry or in this country.

Mark currently resides in San Jose, California with his wife, Julee, and young son, Grayson. He is the most sought after recovery humor speaker/presenter in this country. He still performs over 300 shows or presentations per year. Asked how he maintains such a heavy calendar of work he answers humbly: “God has graced each of us with certain skills. With the amount of humor I have been blessed to create, how could I NOT work that much?! This is the job I have because it is the work I was born to do. Why would I stop?!”
