My name is Shannon and this is my story:
“At only thirty-three years of age, I was an addict and an alcoholic. After twenty years of drinking and drugging, of hopelessness, misery, and unmanageability, I found myself at a crossroads in life, filled with fear and trepidation. It was with Recovery Revolution that my despair was turned into hope and optimism.
The staff at Recovery Revolution immediately worked to make me feel a part of their family and community. Through group sessions, I discovered I was not alone, that many others shared in this struggle. Together we learned about our addictions, and how to face life on life’s terms. Lasting friendships were forged, and I faced my circumstances with honesty, open-mindedness, and willingness as I had never done before. Individually, with a personal counselor, I was able for the first time to realize who I am and what my purpose in life is. I was given the tools to succeed long after my time with Recovery Revolution had come to pass. I even discovered that it was possible to have fun and enjoy thoroughly a life without drugs and alcohol.
The change that took place over the course of a few short months is nothing short of miraculous. From an auspicious beginning, filled with doubt and uncertainty, today I am proud to say I have over eighteen months clean and sober, and life is now fulfilling and rewarding.”
